Professor Boladale Mapayi

Boladale Moyosore MAPAYI is a Professor of Psychiatry, consultant psychiatrist and clinical psychologist at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and OAU Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (2001), a master’s degree (2012) and a PhD (2017) in Clinical Psychology from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. She has a West African College of Physicians Fellowship in Psychiatry (2010).

She has specialized training in REBT (Albert Ellis Institute, 2016), CBT (Oxford CT Centre, 2019), and DBT (British Isles, 2019). Boladale has participated in several agenda‐setting initiatives concerning gender, sexual minorities, sexual violence, adolescents and young people as well as the development and reviews of multiple national and international technical reports.

Her research interests are in women’s and adolescent mental health, gender-based violence and sexuality issues with over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has won and executed several research grants and has served in several leadership positions. Boladale is an experienced facilitator, consultant and trainer for several development partners. She volunteers with several National CSOs. She is an advocate for gender equity, women empowerment and a rights-based approach to health interventions.
